About Raymond
Ray Pang (he/him) is a Brooklyn-based freelance audio producer and sound designer, and he's the captain of AIR New Voices and a producer for Origin Stories, an award-winning podcast from the Leakey Foundation about how we became human. He's always interested in stories centered around a juicy mystery or place-based narratives exploring the messy and emotional intersections between community, food, and the environment.
Recently, he also worked as the producer of Hot Take, a weekly show for Crooked Media that explored the intersections between climate and just about everything under the sun, from fast fashion to electoral politics to the patriarchy. He also sound-designed the first season of Damages, a Critical Frequency podcast exploring the legal case for establishing “rights of nature.”
Before freelancing, Ray worked at PRX for 4 years.
In his free time, he's an avid community gardener, board game enthusiast, cyclist, and cook.
Ray earned his Bachelor's degree in Anthropology with a focus on environmental studies at The University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2012 and his Master's degree in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Denver.
Raymond's Portfolio
“A Tree Is Not A Forest” explores what life might feel like from a tree’s perspective. The piece intends to grapple with questions around aging and becoming less visible, of reciprocity within our relationships with plants, and of climate change and humanity’s problem with rapid deforestation. Enjoy!
