About Rachel
Rachel is an audio producer based in Lubbock, Texas.
Rachel began apprenticing and working in the audio field at the age of 18 while pursuing degrees in music. She has been a consistent audio production freelancer since 2010, recording and editing for local music ensembles such as Lubbock Chorale, Texas Tech University Women's Chorale, TTU University Choir, First United Methodist Church's Vesper Series, and the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra. Rachel also provided technical and studio support for Dr. Angela Mariani of Harmonia out of WFIU.
Rachel previously worked as a radio program producer for Texas Tech Public Media from 2016-2024. Her time spent there was devoted to weekly, hour-long music shows, Music Crossroads of Texas and Noche de Tango. Additionally in 2021, Rachel created and produced the show In the Grow for podcast platforms and KTTZ-FM, which she co-hosted with professor of horticulture, Dr. Vikram Baliga. The podcast focused on empowering people to learn more about growing plants (and food!) in a fun and economical way.
Rachel has produced and edited audio-drama podcasts providing immersive sound design and effects to build stories for the dramedy, Codename Blank, and the horror anthology Hearing the Haunted. Continuing in the audio-drama realm, Rachel is currently working with Mark Vashro and Kenneth Heaton on their sci-fi series Bluelife as audio producer and sound designer.
Rachel is active in the freelance world of audio, devoted to storytelling and connecting people through audio. Presently, Rachel works with Brandon Schexnayder of Southern Gothic Media, providing editing and production support for Fear Daily and Southern Gothic. She also works with Laurah Norton on her two podcasts, The Fall Line and One Strange Thing, as audio producer.

One Strange Thing uncovers authentic paranormal mysteries and unexplained phenomena buried in newspaper archives. We craft witty tales of ghost sightings, strange disappearances, and supernatural events from small town America and beyond through immersive storytelling and historical research. Each episode weaves surprising twists into real paranormal cases. We balance wonder with skepticism and investigate these mysteries with curiosity rather than blind belief.
We search historical records for unexplainable events that shaped communities worldwide, from haunted locations to bizarre disappearances. These aren't fictional ghost stories but real mysteries that made headlines. Perfect for fans of true crime, paranormal investigation, and American history. Family-friendly content that will make you wonder what strange mysteries hide in your hometown's past.
Hosted by Curtis Peoples, Music Crossroads of Texas highlights the rich musical heritage of West Texas and beyond. The show plays many standards from the region but also incorporates underrepresented artists and music that should be heard widely!
Hearing the Haunted is an audio drama anthology podcast created within the Sireniverse, a term that was spawned from Sirenicide, a serialized audio drama podcast that started in 2016. The Sirenistyle of storytelling lives on through Hearing the Haunted and might even shed some new light on some old friends. However, these stories stand on their own and are enjoyable with no knowledge of the serialized show. The host and creator of Hearing the Haunted, Johnny Stitches, will introduce each tale before it begins. The stories here will range from a haunting assortment of horror, drama, mystery, romance, comedy, and beyond. HTH releases each story as its own episode. The show is listener and creator-funded with a growing community of supporters from all over the world.
Ready to embark on a wild botanical adventure with plant enthusiast Rachel Boyd and the Plant Prof himself, Vikram Baliga? For those looking to cultivate their garden, patch of grass, or sunny window without breaking the bank, join us for In the Grow!
Hosted by Charles Olivier, Noche de Tango dives into the past, present, and future of tango music and dance from Argentina and the world.
Fear Daily takes you into the shadows of the past, unearthing the 1990's most terrifying tales of monsters, madness, and life after death. Join us as we explore the ghost stories and supernatural encounters left on an old online bulletin board that continues to operate somewhere in an unknown part of the Pennsylvania Rust Belt - a time capsule of society's greatest fears.
Written by Brennan Storr, creator of The Ghost Story Guys, and hosted by Brandon Schexnayder, creator of Southern Gothic... Fear Daily is guaranteed to be the stuff of nightmares.

THE FALL LINE® is an independent true-crime podcast that digs deep into cold cases that have received little — if any — public attention. We focus on unsolved murders, unidentified persons, and disappearances.
We primarily cover cases in the Southeastern United States, but will work with families and departments anywhere in the U.S. We focus on cold cases that have had little or no mainstream media coverage— particularly because of intersectional issues—and instances where investigation has stalled.
THE FALL LINE® offers expert interviews, long-form coverage of missing and murdered people across the United States, and deep dives into cases of unidentified persons and looks at the cutting-edge science and technology that could identify them.
In a world filled with talking animals, cartoony villains, and crime, two detectives must solve the crimes no one else can. Detective Howard Blank is trying to solve the mystery of his past, and his partner, Johnny Taco the dinosaur, is the only one willing to work with him. They must learn to work together to save the day.
