I tell stories about people's inner worlds — from the ridiculous to the profound. With an extensive background in scriptwriting and marketing, I have an ear for story structure and a knack for punching up scripts.

About Laura

I’m an independent audio producer based in Nashville, TN. My storytelling style hits that subtle balance between humor and depth. A collaborator to my core, I love working in writer’s rooms and one-on-one with other creators. My audio work has ranked in Apple's Top 50 for Society & Culture and has been featured on WMPG’s radio station.

I studied the art of audio documentary at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies and have worked on three chat shows and four narrative podcasts. Along the way, I’ve covered stories about musical artists trying to make it in the Nashville music scene, the “real” lives of reality show contestants, entrepreneurs and their business acquisitions, and everyday people’s bravery that often goes unnoticed. I've also written scripts for podcast hosts, educators, YouTubers, and artists.

Before working in audio, I spent seven years as a creative marketer in the startup world. Because of this background, I’m particularly skilled at hooking audiences and keeping them engaged. I also have a highly attuned BS meter — both as a journalist and as a producer. I believe you can create an immersive, emotional experience for listeners that has respect and reciprocity for a story's subjects.

Under the tutelage of veteran audio producers and journalists, Isaac Kestenbaum and CC Paschal at Salt, I produced audio stories about religious abuse in the context of a horror story, how the unionization of minor league baseball has affected the Portland Sea Dogs, and how a CBS Survivor winner created a yurt campground.
