John Diliberto

John Diliberto is best known as the Executive Producer and host of Echoes, the syndicated music soundscape from PRI. His roots in public radio go back to 1974 when he started as a student disc jockey on WXPN in Philadelphia. He is a winner of the Peabody Award (2002), NFCB Golden Reels in 1995 and 1984, the Major Armstrong Award in 1983 and the Ohio State Award in 1988. His productions include Totally Wired, an award winning new music documentary series; and several programs for NPR's Jazz Profiles. He's produced pieces for Morning Edition, Monitor Radio, Horizons, Been There-Done That, and others. Diliberto was also the Music Supervisor of the award-winning documentary, "Stone Reader." In addition, Diliberto is a nationally published music journalist whose writing has appeared in Musician, Billboard, Downbeat, Jazziz, Pulse and numerous other publications.
