About George

George Mocharko (he/his) is an independent audio producer who specializes in producing interview-based podcasts in the start-up and tech spaces.

Through his one-person consultancy, The Podcast Editor, George is available to edit audio for clients from his home studio and charges clients based upon AIR Media's rate guide and previous client work. He is also available to record field audio, work in a LEDE studio, and produce and edit other people's audio files using Avid ProTools, Adobe Audition, and Hindenburg.

George can help you start a new project, edit your content, or help you find the narrative in your many hours of tape. You can hear his mixing work as the producer of Office Hours with Spencer Rascoff, NY Launch Pod, Second Home and his former radio show DC Entrepreneur on 96.7 WERA FM.

George served as the post production editor of the first season of Code Story hosted by tech entrepreneur Noah Labhart. He's also consulted for The Economic Club of New York, The Energy Exchange from the Energy Bar Association, and The Real Recruiting Story podcasts.

His presentations include speaking about podcast editing at Podcast Movement in 2024, how to "Podcast on the Cheap" at DC Podfest, and at the DC Public library for Knowledge Commons DC.

George has done tape syncs for the Future State podcast with Richard A. Clarke, Climate One from The Commonwealth Club, With Good Reason radio by Virginia Humanities, Sorry Not Sorry with Alyssa Milano, Harvard Business School's alumni podcast "Skydeck", Boston Consulting Group’s She Wonders podcast, The Atlantic, The Dose podcastPost Script Media, FacultyNY, Munk Debates, The Makers podcast from Chef's Feed and Maker's Mark, and Pineapple Street Media. You can find his other production credits on Podchaser.

He has taken audio classes at Duke's Center for Documentary Studies, audio engineering coursework (acoustic principles) at NVCC, and AIM

George came back to audio production in a mid-to-late career pivot, years after being on his college radio station and taking radio production classes as an undergraduate Communications major. So he'd be the first to tell you editing in DAW software is much easier than splicing reel-to-reel. Still, he can help you digitize your old formats as he's helped friends convert their old vinyl, CDs, and cassettes to mp3s.

George is open to new work, and tape syncs, and collabs.
