Dreamscape Soundscape: A sound design workshop (SALT)

Nic Neve is once again teaching a sound design workshop at the Monson Arts residency this summer!
 

The workshop is weeklong intensive at a gorgeous lakeside residency in the woods in Maine. It's called "Dreamscape Soundscape" because students will be using dreams (interpreted broadly) as scripts to make scored, lush little pieces. That way we can get weird about audio and not worry about also being journalists. If you're comfortable with recording and piecing together audio, but want some space and guidance to explore more adventurous sound design, this is for you.

 

Nic will teach music and synthesis using Ableton's huge toolkit (which can be used to make drones, textures, and songs); and some DAW-agnostic editing techniques and principles for creating scenes in your stories. The goal is immersion, fluidity, playfulness...
