Anxiety and Depression in Professional Voice Users

Posted: July 20, 2026

Attention professional voice users! Do you use your voice often for your work, like teaching, music, working in healthcare, clergy, or similar?

You are invited to participate in a research study being conducted at the University of Wisconsin-Madison by Dr Susan Thibeault, PhD CCC-SLP (UW Hospital, 600 Highland Avenue) and her team, investigating anxiety and depression rates in professional voice users with or without a voice disorder. If you choose to take part in this study, you would complete one online survey that will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. To be able to take part in this study, you must be a “professional voice user” (ie, someone who speaks a lot for their day-to-day work) with anxiety and/or depression.
