Open Call for Series Pitches: CBC Podcasts
CBC Podcasts produces premium quality, award-winning podcasts that connect with audiences across Canada and around the world.
Our current ‘Call for Pitches’ runs from Feb. 2 to April 1, 2026 and is now open.
We're open to a variety of production partners — in-house teams, independent producers and production companies, and co-productions with other media organizations.
We're accepting pitches for the following umbrella feeds. Check out our Pitch Guidelines for details on the relevant feeds.
- Uncover - The best in true crime from Sea of Lies to Allison after NXIVM. (Listen | Pitch Guidelines)
- Personally - Gripping memoirs and compelling personal stories. Toy Soldier; Run, Hide, Repeat; Welcome to Paradise. (Listen | Pitch Guidelines)
- The Con - Twist-filled stories of scams, catfishing and con artists. Love, Janessa; Kaitlyn's Baby. (Listen | Pitch Guidelines)
- Split Screen - Inside the captivating, sometimes unsettling, but always entertaining world of pop culture. Who Replaced Avril Lavigne?; Kid Nation. (Listen | Pitch Guidelines)
What we're looking for:
- Ambitious and exciting series that stand out and garner critical acclaim
- Original stories where you ideally have unique access
- Universal entry points for a wide range of Canadian and global audiences
- Skilled producers who bring creativity and experience making premium quality content
- Our slate reflects our diverse and contemporary society
Some things to avoid:
- Pitches that don't sustain multiple episodes and are better suited to one-off documentaries.
- Pitches that rely on copyrighted music (due to rights issues)
- Pitches that are topics or ideas versus compelling stories with characters
- Currently, we are not commissioning talk, interview or chat formats
Please submit your pitch using this Google Form. (We recommend saving your answers first in a separate document before submitting the form.)
Here's what we will ask you:
- The working title of your podcast including a logline
- Your elevator pitch or a brief description of the story
- A detailed summary of your podcast. Feel free to include characters, how the story unfolds, an episode outline, and how it meets our pitch guidelines for the relevant umbrella feed
- Which umbrella feed
- Your role in the production team
- Your previous work/resume
- Audio samples
- Pitch deck
Please note: A required action before uploading your pitch will be to agree to the terms and conditions of our Pitch Release Agreement. To be considered in our 2026 Call for Pitches, your pitch must be submitted by 11:59pm ET on April 1, 2026.
You should get an automatic email confirming we received your pitch. If we'd like to learn more about your idea, we will be in touch!
