About Terra

Terra Lopez is a podcast host, artist, musician, and activist based in Northern California. Her podcast, This Is What It Feels Like debuted on NPR/CPR in September 2023. The podcast series explores empathy and compassion by engaging in candid, raw, and insightful conversations with individuals who have  historically been overlooked in media. Covering suicide, mental health, abortion rights, street harassment, agism, and more, Lopez creates safer spaces for emotional exploration and meaningful connections, cultivating a sense of community amongst listeners.

This Is What It Feels Like originally debuted in 2017 as an interactive, auditory exhibit where cis-gender men could experience what it felt like to be a female-presenting person by being subjected to gender-based harassment. The project quickly received international attention, securing partnerships with Governor Gavin Newsom, AT&T, Planned Parenthood, LoveLOUD Festival, Bonnaroo Festival, and press from Rolling Stone, Huffington Post, AJ+, Bustle, and more.

Outside of podcasting, Terra has been a professional touring musician with the bands Rituals of Mine and Sister Crayon for over 15 years.
