About Rose

I enjoy broadening the contours of a story beyond our daily news cycles and everyday conversations. The stories I am most drawn to come from the margins of public life. Storytelling is an artform and I have pursued this in various mediums my whole life including photography, video, film, radio, and podcasting. I love working with clients to bring new ideas for storytelling that can invigorate their ideas. Collaboration is a creative process for me. Working as a team, honoring each person’s experience and expertise, makes for the best possible work. I also work very well independently and have the strong organizational skills to meet strict deadlines.

Creating Space to Talk About Race

Hosted by The Young and The Woke podcast, I produced a 3-part podcast series, “Creating Space to Talk about Race.” The podcast tackled the controversial topic of “critical race theory” in schools by centering the perspectives of Oakland, California students engaged in ethnic studies curriculum.

From Generation to Generation: The Legacy of Japanese American Incarceration

This oral history project highlights interviews from 23 Japanese American survivors and descendants of World War II-era sites of incarceration at Manzanar in California and Topaz in Utah. The 4-part series explores identity, community, creative expression, and the stories family members have passed down about how incarceration shaped their lives.
