About Matt
Matt was the recipient of a Regional Murrow Award for Best News Documentary for his explanatory reporting about election security in Colorado's mail-in voting system. Matt's work was also recognized by the Colorado chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
As a general assignment reporter and backup host for Colorado Public Radio, he covered record-breaking wildfires, historic elections, LGBTQ issues and even got a lesson from the world’s number one competitive pinball player during an interview. His work has aired on NPR's Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Embedded, APM's Marketplace, WBUR's Here & Now, and WNYC's podcast Nancy.
He is available for reporting, producing, mixing, engineering and editing jobs.
During his time off, he enjoys dancing, playing piano, singing and anything creative.

CPR News: Is your vote secure, and properly counted? Since November 2020, election integrity has been under public scrutiny. It’s questioned in the news, by family and friends, and candidates themselves. This episode takes you behind the scenes of Colorado’s elections, to meet the people and systems designed to prevent fraud and count every vote.
At least 22 states now ban gender-affirming care for minors. West Virginia and Louisiana did so this month. That has some families with transgender kids packing up their homes and moving to states with friendlier laws like Colorado. Matt Bloom with Colorado Public Radio reports.
Librarians in at least three states are asking the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to intervene after they were fired for refusing to ban books.
