About Lauren
I'm a freelance journalist and audio producer based in Brooklyn. I've covered everything from combined sewer overflows to living room karaoke to endangered plovers in the Rockaways.
Currently, I'm producing a podcast for NYC's only worker-owned news outlet, Hell Gate!
I'm also helping Laurel Morales produce her narrative podcast, 2 Lives. I've worked with production companies including Prologue Projects, Campside Media, and Awfully Nice. My writing has appeared in Hell Gate, New York Magazine, The New York Times, Vox, GQ, and Atlas Obscura, among others. I used to be the senior editor at Amtrak's onboard magazine, The National (RIP). I'm a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.
