About Jennifer

I have more than 15 years of experience working as a journalist producing current affairs, investigative and news stories at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. The majority of my work experience came from working in television, however I have strong storytelling skills in audio and online formats, and have rewired my brain to be audio first. Producing feature interviews, investigative research, and writing are three of my core journalism strengths but I've done all the jobs in the newsroom: producing, chasing, editing, on-air talent, you name it, I've done that job in locations across North America. Currently, I am working as an audience growth and insights specialist working with clients to understand their podcast audience. We survey the landscape of similar podcasts, find the right audience for the podcast's business goals, market the show through various channels and measure our success through multiple metrics. I joined the audience development team at Pacific Content after working there as a producer and showrunner on several podcasts including How to Fix the Internet and Inside the Breakthrough.

Before joining Pacific Content, I was working as a journalism instructor at Langara College, leading an audio storytelling course and a course on data journalism. I have taught journalism at UBC and BCIT, and was a Member at Large on the board of J-Schools Canada. Throughout, I worked to bring deep learning of ethical journalistic practices and great storytelling to students. I also produced several research projects and developed an interest in solutions journalism practice.
