About Erin
As a Program Manager at the Association of Independents in Radio, I oversaw mentorship and training on SoundPath, AIR's training platform for the audio industry. During my time at AIR, I created 240 enriching opportunities for professional development for AIR’s membership and the community at large, including facilitating 100 live events and trainings. I also lead AIR's Rate research including the release of the 2025 Rate Guide with the Rate Guide Committee. I am also responsible for the partnership with Tape Syncers United which brings fair rates to freelance tape syncers.
I served as a judge for the 2025 48-hour Sonic Dash competition, the Signal Awards and for Current.org's Rising Stars competition. I have spoken at Podcast Movement, NLGJA Convention, Resonate Podcast Festival, University of Calgary, Illinois Institute for Technology, Concordia University and more. I currently serves as both Governance and Vice Chair on the Executive Committee of Board of Directors of PhillyCAM, Philadelphia's community access media center.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Justice & Equity Studies where I studied the impact the broadcast journalism on democracy. I currently reside in South Philadelphia, PA.
Erin's Portfolio
The AIR 2025 Rate Guide is designed to help independent producers, editors, engineers, and consultants better understand fair rates and negotiate confidently. It also serves as a resource for hiring organizations to develop realistic budgets.
These rates are based on survey data, freelancer interviews, and industry research conducted in 2024 and early 2025. We encourage freelancers to track their time, share their rates, and use this guide to help set sustainable pay expectations. For a complete guide, see all of AIR's work on rates.
Queer Public is a narrative podcast about queer culture, queer identity and queer politics. Each episode explores a different aspect of queer life and tackles such issues as racism in Philadelphia's gay neighborhood, consent in the queer community, and the responsibility of our public figures to queer youth.
In June of 2019, Netflix launched Tales of Your City, a series to promote the Tales of the City reboot directed by Lauren Morelli. We pitched an episode for "Atlanta". Produced in collaboration with Josh Gwyn and Anne Hepperman at Pineapple Street Media and edited by AIR New Voices Alum (2018) Ariana Martinez, this episode tells the tale of Diane and the volunteer from the Atlanta Gay Hotline in 1984 who changed everything.
