I am open to a wide range of opportunities, but I'm especially looking to deepen my experience in narrative and long-form storytelling. I'm a musician who studied instrumental performance in college, along with recording and engineering techniques, so I'm especially enthusiastic about working in sound design and advanced audio editing. I'm also passionate about creative writing and regularly write fiction and creative nonfiction, so I'm eager to hone in on writing as well. About Benjamin
I'm a public radio journalist based on California's Central Coast. I've worked at NPR West, small stations in San Bernardino and San Luis Obispo, and several print/digital publications. I've basically done it all in public radio: reporting, hosting, editing and producing. I'm now looking to take those skills into the podcast world, with a particular focus on narrative and long-form storytelling. I also am eager to work in advanced audio editing and sound design, having studied instrumental performance and music production in college. Reporting-wise, I gravitate most towards the environment and arts beats, but I've been general assignment for all of my five-year career. My work has been featured on NPR's national news magazines, KQED's The California Report, the member stations I've worked for, podcast platforms and more.
