About Ashley
After working in marketing, PR, and copywriting in my twenties, I started in public radio after a summer internship at WNYC. For many years I worked in the New York bureau of Marketplace, reporting news spots and features on every aspect of business, the economy, and personal finance. I've also filed for NPR, The World, Voice of America and various small shows. In the last several years I've been doing a lot of podcasting. I've hosted my own show, The Broad Experience, since 2012, and I host, write, and produce podcasts for clients large and small. The more the story has to do with relationships and the messiness of life, the keener I am to work on it. I learned while working for a business show that nearly every story - even one about the economy - is ultimately about people.
After 20+ years in New York I moved back to my husband's home town on eastern Long Island. I'm available for tape syncs of the high and mighty in The Hamptons.

Tight Knit
I reported and hosted this 8-part podcast series on family caregivers. Millions of people in the U.S. and around the world are looking after an older person in their life, an experience that can transform you in all sorts of ways. Those stories often go untold. These podcasts aim to change that.

The Broad Experience
This is my podcast on women and the workplace. I started it in 2012 after studying on CUNY's entrepreneurial journalism program. There is no team. It's just me. The show is a combination of narrative storytelling and Q&A, and its aim is to inspire listeners and provide a sense of community, to enable them to learn from the women they’re hearing, and take something away that they can use in their own lives. The podcast has been featured on lots of 'best of' lists including in the Guardian and the Economist.
Being an indy podcaster is hard and there are many times when I've felt like giving up, but this show has also been the most rewarding thing I've ever done professionally.
