Ashley J. Hobbs is an audio producer, writer, and VO artist who has produced for ESSENCE, Warner Music Group, Will Packer Media, ABF Creative, The Unbothered Network, Spotify and others. She has led production on a host of shows including Sanctified and Holding Court with Eboni K. Williams. Her expertise and skill set have yielded loyal listenership, high engagement, nods and awards from The Webbys to The Ambies, and just plain ol’ good content. Not precious about titles or accolades, her joy comes from the doing - making imaginative, affirming, genre-crossing entertainment with fellow collaborative, curious and kind creatives.

As a voiceover artist and narrator, Ashley co-stars in the new Spotify Podcast Cents & the City. She can also be heard on Midcentury Modern Media’s Unmasked.

As a writer, Ashley crafts tales that explore and honor the interior worlds of women and girls, the textures of culture, and the necessity of community. Her work examines how we (re)claim and celebrate our selves. She has been published in midnight & indigo literary journal and the upcoming 49.1 issue of Obsidian: Literature & Arts in the African Diaspora Journal published by Illinois State University. Ashley is currently making a short story collection among other exciting work.

She watches Turner Classic Movies religiously, is a plant mom of 37, and can’t wait to do her Eartha Kitt impression at any given moment.

Stories that make us rethink some of our beliefs and make us aware of our biases. Stories that undo decades (or centuries) of othering. Stories that evoke laughter, happiness. Stories that make us a little more knowledgeable, profitable, venerable.
