About Anna Olivia
Whether I’m working on an independent piece or in partnership with a client, I approach every project with curiosity and a love of storytelling.
I work with clients to refine their unique voices, values, and identities into authentic, authoritative series. Recently, I produced and launched A Little Green Podcast with Avocado Green Brands (season three coming soon!), and produced Nevermind Media’s latest series, Have You Heard This One? Previously, I worked with Kill Rock Stars to create Girl Germs: A Podcast About Bratmobile’s Pottymouth and produced over 100 episodes of their award-winning music business podcast, The Future of What. I currently lead production for Noto Group Executive Search’s How I Hire. I’m also working with Talkhouse on a forthcoming music documentary series. I’m a graduate of the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, where I focused on stories about young people in Maine who are contending with the climate crisis.
My written work has appeared in The Portland Mercury, Oregon Public Broadcasting, Bitch Media, Vortex Music Magazine, Ragan Communications, and KEXP.
I’ve spoken about podcasting at events like Podcast Movement and PDX PodFest, and in interviews with OPB, StudioPod, Storyboard’s POPP, The Podcast Producer’s Survival Handbook, and others.
I offer end-to-end podcast production, series development and distribution, interviewing, scriptwriting, recording, sound design, post-production, private consultation, and other services.

Have You Heard This One? is a sound-rich music anthology series dedicated to telling the stories of overlooked artists, fascinating characters, under-represented voices, funny moments, important events, forgotten chapters of history, and some of the greatest music stories seldom told. Each episode is hosted by a different journalist taking listeners on a deep dive into the heart of music and fandom.
Stories range from epic to hilarious, poignant to shocking or downright strange. Whether told in one episode or over the span of a few, each story will leave you asking your friends, “Have You Heard This One?"
How did an underground feminist punk movement set off a global music revolution? Girl Germs is a podcast from independent record label Kill Rock Stars celebrating the 25th anniversary of Pottymouth the debut album from now-legendary riot grrrl band Bratmobile. This miniseries features interviews with Bratmobile along with artists like Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney, Heavens to Betsy), Marissa Paternoster (Screaming Females), Katie Alice Greer (Priests), and more.
Talent is critical to every successful company, but hiring at the executive level comes with many challenges and variables. Roy Notowitz and his team at Noto Group have spent the last decade helping build iconic consumer brands, one hire at a time. Now, Roy is sitting down with some of the world’s most inspiring leaders to dig into the complexities of assembling exceptional teams.
The Future of What is a podcast and radio program about the music industry. Each week host Portia Sabin, president of independent record label Kill Rock Stars (Elliott Smith, Sleater-Kinney, The Decemberists), delves into a topic of interest to music industry professionals, musicians, and regular people alike by discussing important issues with great people who work every day to help artists succeed (largely behind the scenes).
In the face of an escalating climate crisis, what does it mean to do our part? A Little Green is a short podcast series from Avocado Green Brands. Follow along as Avocado’s own Christina Thompson investigates her and, by extension, our relationship with the environment and its health. And it won’t be simple. It’ll take vulnerability, candid conversations with those at the forefront of the climate movement, and an exploration of her own awareness and impact. We’ll demystify the “obvious” questions many of us find ourselves asking these days. Better yet, we’ll take things a step further to challenge the status quo and become climate leaders in our own communities. Protecting our planet will take all of us, no matter where we’re at. So let’s dig in -- together.
