About Ania

Ania Przygoda is a highly acclaimed sound editor based in the UK. She worked on various feature films, including The Story of Looking, I Am Not A Witch, and Pikadero.  She won Best Sound Designer at Underwire Film Festival 2014 and was nominated for the prestigious Verna Fields Golden Reel awarded by Motion Picture Sound Editors association in Los Angeles.  Ania is a member of MPSE - Motion Picture Sound Editors  
In 2022, amongst other projects, she worked on The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde directed by Hope Dickson Leach. It was a daring new hybrid rendition of the Jekyll and Hyde tale, encompassing a live performance at Leith Theatre and a cinematic broadcast nationwide. In 2021, she supervised Mark Cousins' documentary The Story of Looking. Additionally, in 2022, she collaborated with him on an art installation entitled Like A Huge Scotland for the Fruitmarket Gallery in Edinburgh, which will be followed by a feature film next year. In 2019, she was the supervising sound editor on Make Up, which competed in the first feature category at the BFI London Film Festival. The film is currently available for online streaming. Two years earlier, she worked on Rungano Nyoni's I Am Not A Witch which premiered in the Official Selection at the Cannes Film Festival.  The director was awarded with the BEST DIRECTOR award at BIFA - BRITISH INDEPENDENT FILM AWARDS 2017. Previously, Ania's films won awards such as the Palme d'Or at Cannes 2014, the Golden Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival and San Sebastián International Film Festival 2012, the Grand Prix at the Tampere Film Festival, the Royal Television Society Award in 2013, the Golden Mikeldi at ZINEBI Bilbao, the Grand Jury Prize at the Lille Festival du Cinéma Européen, the Best Film at the Bogota Short Film Festival, the Best UK Short at the London Short Film Festival, the Grand Prix at Shorts Asia in Tokyo, and Huesca. Ania graduated from an MA in Sound Design for Film and Television from the National Film and Television School in the UK. ​She has worked as a sound designer, sound editor, and dubbing mixer on numerous films, including both shorts and features.
