About Andrea

I went into the field of audio journalism and storytelling ten years ago because I loved the combination of current affairs with the artistry of the production, the intimacy of the medium, and the way sound can paint a mental picture. Since then, I’ve worked as a reporter, a producer and a host of radio and podcasts. I have also reported and edited for the web. I was the founding producer for four podcasts and one radio show. I have a special interest in health: I was a digital producer and a radio reporter for the public health reporting project Side Effects Public Media and hosted and produced my own podcast, Ladyparts. I also have experience covering public affairs and politics, urban development, arts and culture, climate change, and other subjects. Some of my favorite stories/segments: • For Victims of Sex Trafficking, A Therapeutic Court Provides A Way Out – Side Effects Public Media • With Heroin Overdose Deaths Rising, Families Clamor For Access To A Life-Saving Drug- Side Effect Public Media • Power to the People? Considering the Power and Limitations of Ballot Questions -Connecticut Public Radio • Why It's An Uphill Battle To Make Indianapolis A More Pedestrian Friendly City – NPR • Midwifery and Maternal Mortality – Ladyparts Visit andreamuraskin.contently.com or andreamuraskin.com for links to my work. I'd love to hear from you. Email me at [email protected] or call 201-317-5668.
