Podcast Maker Mingle Happy Hour @ KQED

Come to our mixer at KQED for an evening of conversations, breakout activities, and mingling over small bites with fellow podcasters, audio makers, and storytellers! Meet other people interested in audio, get advice, and learn about the vibrant podcasting community here in the Bay Area. Light refreshments will be served!

The evening will kick off with a short talk featuring our guest speaker, Roifield Brown, an experienced podcaster, broadcaster, digital strategist, and audio editor based in Oakland.

Doors open at 6:00pm, event starts at 6:30pm. This is an in-person event and will not be livestreamed. Proof of vaccination will be required upon entry and all attendees are required to wear masks inside the KQED building.

MEET ROIFIELD BROWN

Roifield is the producer of podcasts such as How Jamaica Conquered the World, 10 American Presidents, Dumteedum, Map Corner, Intelligent Speech and Mid Atlantic. He teaches podcasting at UC Berkeley and serves as the story editor for Audio Up’s Beyond28 podcast with the Golden State Warriors. He is also a history director for Podcast Magazine and an AIR mentor.

The Podcast Garage at KQED is a partnership between KQED and PRX. Open to all, the PRX Podcast Garage at KQED hosts live events on the art and business of audio, ranging from listening sessions to podcast tapings. Across our work, our priorities are to create accessible and affordable entry points for new makers; represent the voices and stories of everyone in our community; encourage connection and collaboration between creators; and nurture emerging shows with educational resources.
