Pitch Us: Interactive Soundscapes for The Cultural Frontline

Posted: May 14, 2020
Have the sounds of your world changed since the start of lockdown? Can you hear bird song where there used to be planes? Or has the sound of the wind in the trees replaced the traffic? The BBC World Service would like you to share the sounds you can hear from your home during the coronavirus lockdown. We are working in partnership with the sound artist Nick Ryan to create an interactive soundscape of the world during this time – which we will then broadcast on The Cultural Frontline. Please note this is a request for people to contribute to this project voluntarily. There is no payment for sending anything in. Simply record one minute on your smartphone or any other recording device. Please e-mail your sounds with a written to description to [email protected] Please make sure you comply with any rules of lockdown wherever you are when recording.
