Podcast Story Editor

Role Overview 

The Story Editor at Glass Podcasts plays a central role in shaping the voice, structure, and impact of our audio content. This position ensures that each episode is engaging, accurate, and ethically produced. The Story Editor transforms raw research, interviews, and recordings into cohesive stories that resonate with listeners and maintain Glass’s high editorial standards.  This position will work remotely with our production team, but New York based is a plus.

The Story Editor ensures that Glass Podcasts delivers stories that captivate, inform, and resonate with our audience. They act as a bridge between research, production, and the listener’s experience, guaranteeing that every episode reflects the company’s commitment to high-quality storytelling.

Key Responsibilities 

• Develop, edit, and refine episode scripts to craft compelling, accurate, and sensitive narratives. 
• Collaborate closely with producers, hosts, and researchers to translate raw material into cohesive audio storytelling. 
• Evaluate story structure, pacing, and narrative flow to ensure each episode delivers maximum engagement and emotional impact. 
• Ensure all content meets Glass Podcasts’ standards for factual accuracy, journalistic integrity, and ethical sensitivity. 
• Provide guidance and feedback to team members to enhance narrative clarity, tone, and storytelling quality. 
• Continuously identify opportunities to innovate in narrative style, audio storytelling techniques, and episode formats. 
• Join writing workshops as well as screenings for projects they are leading on.

• Creative and strategic thinker capable of spotting narrative opportunities and maintaining listener engagement. 
• Solid understanding of the podcast medium, including pacing, structure, and audio storytelling best practices. 
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to polish scripts to the highest standard. 

CONTENT DISCLAIMER 

This show tells stories of deception, manipulation, violence, and its lasting impacts on survivors. We work directly with guest contributors to tell their stories, which can include graphic details about sexual assault experiences and domestic violence. Our team takes this work seriously and with great care. We are looking for someone who can safely engage with this kind of content and bring the same level of respect to the process.   

Rate: $300 - $350/day  

Dates: August, 2 –3 weeks with flexibility
