About Zoe
If you are interested in complex narratives and cross-border stories, let’s talk. I'm an entrepreneurial, multi-media journalist who tells stories through a systemic lens. Using a character-driven approach, I explore problems and the efforts to solve them. My work identifies power structures as well as the people challenging the status quo. I have reported from Brazil, Argentina and Wisconsin for the Guardian, the BBC World Service, Mongabay, NPR, DW, and others.

My reporting uncovered the activist ob/gyn we interviewed for this episode as well as the Midwest Access Coalition. I prepped the pre-interview briefs and questions and made the initial cut of the first segment after the interviews.
The story follows Andrea Irwin after her bi-racial son, Tony Robinson, Jr., is killed by a white police officer in Madison, WI. Andrea captured her thoughts and feelings in the weeks after her son's murder and the story follows her until nearly the third anniversary of his death.
This documentary follows Nadedja da Souza as she and other women push back against the misogyny in their evangelical churches, demanding an end to gender-based violence.
Aymara Val is a community organizer on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. She is part of Argentina's vibrant feminist movement, working with women to develop cooperative businesses so they can be financially autonomous.
I worked with the host, Senior Producer and another producer from the outset of this project, helping to shape the narrative, contributing to research, and identifying the best clips for the story.
