Tuck Woodstock

Hi! I'm a journalist, educator, audio producer, and alleged former mayor of Portland. My work focuses on telling better stories about gender and trans people.

As a co-founder of Sylveon Consulting, I frequently lead workshops about trans-inclusive journalism for newsrooms such as TIME, Insider, Oregon Public Broadcasting, and the Online News Association. 

I have provided editorial consulting for a wide variety of podcasts and outlets, including This American Life, The New Yorker Radio Hour, Welcome to Provincetown, Crooked Media, and KQED. I was a featured speaker at the Third Coast International Audio Festival in 2019 and 2020, and a 2019 Third Coast Radio Residency recipient. I have guest-lectured in journalism and media classes at NYU, Northwestern University, University of Chicago, The  New School, and many others. 

I currently host the award-winning podcast Gender Reveal, which has released ten seasons and distributed upwards of $250,000 in grants and mutual aid.

I have previously worked as a health editor, a vegan food writer, a protest reporter, and the editor of the Portland visitors guide. My print bylines include the Washington Post, Bon Appetit, NBCU, and them.us. 

I hold a B.F.A. in documentary film production from Chapman University, and currently live in Queens, New York.
