About Teja
My name is Teja Pallikonda, and I'm a journalist specialized in all things audio. From creating my own podcast, Three (Un)wise Women, to graduating as one of the top audio students from my class at Columbia Journalism School, in the last three years I've held every role on a radio/podcast production team.
From live radio news broadcasts to long form narrative series, I can pitch, report, script, edit, and narrate audio stories. I have experience reporting on New York City politics, pop culture, food, and the Indian-American community. I'm currently open for work, specifically temporary, part-time, or full time associate producer roles. I'm open to in person, hybrid, or fully remote roles anywhere in the United States.
Teja's Portfolio

This was my capstone project on New York City's digital divide. New York City is the second most disconnected city in United States, with 1.5 million New Yorkers living with partial or no internet connectivity today. My story investigated what is it like to live without the internet in 2022, what shortcuts people have to take to get online, and most importantly, how is it possible that in a metropolis like New York City, so many people live disconnected?
This is a piece I did regarding a landmark civil rights case underway in California involving a former employee of Cisco Systems who is suing his supervisors for caste based workplace discrimination. My story explains what caste discrimination is and how it manifests in America through investigating the details of the Cisco case and also through the story of Anil Wagde, an IT professional from India who's faced caste biases and discrimination all throughout his life.

Two years ago during the COVID outbreak, my friends and I decided to create a different kind of podcast. Instead of a show packed with hot takes and opinions, we decided to unpack pertinent issues in the world in a clear and nuanced way. So, we started Three (Un)wise Women, a weekly show discussing pertinent social, cultural, and political issues with the fun of a chat show among three friends who graduated college during a global pandemic.
