I work with Real People Media, a nonprofit independent media organization in northern Michigan. I have just launched a podcast featuring extended interviews with the artists who have been awarded a residency at the Crosshatch Center for Art and Ecology's Hill House Artist Residency Program. I am also writing a guidebook for Aunts and Uncles. I earned my MFA in Writing and Poetics, Fiction, from The Naropa Institute, now Naropa University, and I successfully defended a novel to fulfill my PhD's creative dissertation option from UIC's Program for Writers. I taught composition, the writing of fiction and nonfiction prose, and literature at UIC while pursuing my degree. I was a participant in Transom's first Traveling Workshop on audio storytelling presented in conjunction with Interlochen Public Radio.
