Produced, scripted, recorded and edited by me, this episode addresses the fact that in the United States, children are the only category of people against whom violence, as a disciplinary measure, is legal as long as it occurs in school. While corporal punishment against students is legal in 19 states, nearly all states practice seclusion and restraint to varying degrees, especially in private schools. There are no federal laws regulating the use of any of these abusive practices.

This year the oldest millennials turn 41, so I visited San Francisco’s Dolores Park, an area known for having the highest concentration of millennials in the city, to ask park-goers how they feel about getting older. For most, physical appearance and health were major concerns, but they were largely overshadowed by the optimism of growing into their identities.
