About Jakob
I'm the creative director of Great Feeling Studios, a full service podcast production company in Nashville, TN. We produced the multi award-winning show Going Wild With Dr. Rae Wyn-Grant with PBS Nature and sound designed the Peabody Award winning show "The Promise: Season 2". We produce our own flagship show "No Small Endeavor" which is distributed by PRX. We've worked with VPM, Nashville Public Radio, Masterpiece, and others to create nationally recognized content. Our mission is to move people toward the common good through sound, story, and conversation.
I was trained at the Transom Story Workshop on Cape Cod—a 9-week radio storytelling intensive. I founded the podcast Neighbors in partnership with Nashville Public Radio and won best society and culture podcast in 2016 at Podcast Movement. I've done many pieces for the Goethe-Institut, two of which I traveled to Germany and Ireland to produce. Now I enjoy leading and creating structure for creative teams.
Jakob's Portfolio

An hour long special I produced with Nashville Public Radio to honor a man at a time when we can't gather together. When John Prine died on April 7 of complications from COVID-19, he left behind boots too big to fill — and an even bigger hole in the heart of our city. A legendary songwriter, a gracious mentor and inspiration to new generations of music makers, and perhaps the city’s premier meatloaf connoisseur, Prine deserves the big send-offs we give to great artists and heads of state.

Jakob Lewis was born in Germany, at the military base where his dad was stationed — and hasn’t been back since. Now, he retraces his parents’ steps and finds surprising parallels between their life then and his life today.

Great Feeling Studios sound designed a Peabody Award-winning series about inequality and the people trying to rise above it, with host and reporter Meribah Knight. In Season 1, we told the story of Nashville's largest public housing complex, smack in the middle of a city on the rise. In Season 2, we explore how that divide reveals itself in the classroom. One neighborhood, two schools — one black and poor, the other white and well-off, and the kids stuck in the middle.

Great Feeling Studios produced this amazing podcast. Journey deep into the heart of the world’s most remote jungles, savannas, tundras, mountains, and deserts with wildlife biologist Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant as she studies wild animals in their natural habitats. Rae and her teams spend years studying these animals – in order to protect their futures. Going Wild with Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant takes you inside their hidden worlds – and the action-packed adventures of the wildlife conservationists who track them.
