Hi, I’m Erin. I’m a freelance audio reporter and producer, currently based in Seattle. My work has been featured on National Public Radio, Vice Media, The Kitchen Sisters, and NPR-affiliate stations around the country.
I got my start as a Morning Edition host and contributing reporter at KCAW, an NPR Member station in Sitka, Alaska. I’ve been lucky to continue my study of and work in longform narrative journalism, first at the Salt Institute of Documentary Studies, and later at NPR’s Story Lab, where I produced innovative & non-traditional stories for newsmagazine shows, like All Things Considered and Morning Edition, and helped coordinate the Story Lab Workshop, which trains reporters in longform storytelling. I was a 2020 finalist for NPR’s Kroc Fellowship.
I’ve had other careers before this one: as a poetry editor for northwest literary publication, Bracken; as a founding member of aspiring liberal arts college, Outer Coast; and as a case manager for a Seattle-based social service organization. I’m grateful for this winding path and the ways it continues to shape how I connect with people and think about stories.
I’m currently available for audio production and freelance assignments.
