Emily Shaw

Emily Shaw crafts strategy-driven podcasts for clients, and produces intimate, sound-rich audio stories that push the boundaries of the medium. She’s produced audio content for Google, Uber, Pandora, KCRW, KALW, and more.

Emily got her start conducting a rogue oral history project in Vietnam in 2013, and went on to study audio documentary and podcasting at Duke University’s Center for Documentary Studies, Women’s Audio Mission, Writing Pad, and UnionDocs. She honed her interviewing and sound design chops as the host and producer of Cozy Boat, an intimate, music-infused podcast about creativity and passion. 

Since then, she's worked on many shows, including Call & Response, Sing LOUDER, the Think with Google Podcast, Up at Night, Life at Pandora, Power of Audio, and A Therapist Walks Into A Bar. She's also the founder of Podcast Parlor, a Bay Area community of over 140 producers who share and workshop audio at locally-hosted “Podlucks” and online.

In previous lives, Emily scaled Operations as Employee #1 of a mobile app startup, and taught on four continents.
