About Dallas
I'm a freelance producer passionate about the potential of media to transform the world around us. I specialize in all things audio, assisting various projects throughout the process of production, composition, mixing, and mastering. Available for tape-syncs, contracts, and consulting.
In my time at Scribe Video Center, I produced both radio and podcast series, such as Archival Revival: Camera Original Conversations on Black Life, and Power Politics, which airs on WURD Radio.
As a fellow and member of Rowhome Productions, I led production on Blackstar Projects' Many Lumens podcast, produced a piece for the Association for Public Art, Asian Arts Initiative, and more.
I'm currently the lead producer on the Doorknob Comments podcast. I joined the team this past season, providing my expertise to give their sound profile a more professional polish.
In high school, I fell in love with creating dreadful bedroom music with friends. In college, I fell in love with anthropology and the practice of ethnography. Combining these two passions have been the driving force behind my work, creating accessible audiovisual forms of information.
Dallas' Portfolio
I was the lead editor for 6 episodes in Season 2 of Many Lumens, a podcast produced by Blackstar Film Festival. I was responsible for capturing recording in various situations: via zoom, multiple microphones in the same room, and various other remote recording setups; editing down episodes: from the raw tape to finalized product; and mixing the recording before passing it off to another producer to master the mix.
In a collaboration with the Association for Public Art (aPA), I had the opportunity to carry out research, conduct interviews, and produce an audio piece about Social Consciousness, a sculpture by Sir Jacob Epstein located at the University of Pennsylvania. I was tasked with packaging three interviews into a bite-sized narrative that was both accessible and informative for individuals interested in learning more about the sculpture. It was a pleasure to work with both the aPA, and Rowhome Productions to bring this idea to life.
Joining as the lead producer for Season Two of the Doorknob Comments Podcast, I've worked with co-hosts Dr. Fara White and Dr. Grant Brenner to give their podcast a professional sound profile to their liking. With minimal social media presence, we've steadily grown to over 100 downloads an episode, and amassed 1.5k downloads in the past 6 months as of May 2023.
