I created the Classical Classroom podcast in 2013 while working at Houston Public Media. At that time, though I didn't know anything about classical music, I was the music librarian at the station, surrounded by classical music nerds. One day, I got fed up with not understanding what any of my coworkers were talking about, so I suggested that they teach me what they thought I needed to know about the music. My co-producers and I turned it into a podcast of lessons to a newbie about classical music. In the last seven years, I've interviewed all manner of classical music luminaries, and I'm still learning in each new episode!
NW Focus Stories is Classical KING FM's only long-form audio series. As executive producer of the show, I lead a team of producers in telling stories about Seattle's music community. Each episode revolves around a theme, and each segment tells a story within that theme. The show's mission is to connect with KING's diverse listening audience by representing them on the airwaves.
