Claire is available for

I have a large project wrapping up in late July and am on the hunt for the next thing!

I'm looking for full-time or contract audio work that highlights underrepresented voices, exposes wrongdoing or directly addresses the public's needs. I can research, report, find unique sources, record in the field, write scripts, edit audio, score and mix.

About Claire

I'm a podcast producer, science reporter and community engagement editor attracted to projects that highlight underrepresented voices, expose wrongdoing and benefit the public.

I recently graduated from Columbia University's graduate school of journalism with a M.A. in science journalism. My work has appeared on NPR and PBS NewsHour and won regional, national and international awards.

My specialties include podcast production, radio documentaries, narrative writing and fact-checking. I also have ample experience teaching podcasting workshops to high school and college students, voice coaching and consulting on passion projects. When I'm not in the field, I'm blogging about books and re-watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Reporting, Writing & Producing: I'm looking for full-time or contract audio work that highlights underrepresented voices, exposes wrongdoing or directly addresses the public's needs.

Consulting & Voice Coaching: Have a podcast you want to get off the ground? Struggling with writing, narration or music? Need resources on podcast production and distribution? Email me a short description of your project with the subject line "Coaching" and we can discuss rates, which include discounts for students and nonprofits!

Teaching & Workshops: I’ve given dozens of free, 45-minute presentations to high school and college classes. I can customize my podcasting 101 presentation for your class project, and past presentations have covered the basics of creating a history or science podcast, the difference between radio and podcast production and how to collect and use nat sound. I prioritize public/state schools and free after-school programs but am happy to work with private schools and scout programs based on availability. If you're interested, email me a short description of the project and your class time(s) with the subject line "Podcast presentation.”
