Anna is available forI love collaborating and feel most alive when facilitating meetings, coordinating many people and their needs and ideas, and collectively editing to bring stories to life.
I also love connecting with people and capturing scenes in the field, spending time reading legal and archival documents, and producing stories that challenge dominant ways of seeing things.
Anna Stitt is an award-winning audio producer/reporter. She's based in Minneapolis and has roots in the Ozark Mountains. She holds a BA in sociology and history from Swarthmore College and a certificate in narrative reporting from the Transom Story Workshop.
Her audio work was awarded 2019 best audio feature and 2020 best audio sports coverage by the Minnesota Society of Professional Journalists and has been featured on podcasts and public radio stations across the U.S.
In 2020, she produced a National Geographic-supported investigative public radio series on medical neglect in Arkansas prisons. She also produced a one-hour historical audio documentary on the multiracial crew of skinheads who fought white power in the late 1980s and 1990s, preceding the crews now often called "antifa." And she was the senior producer for the Get WIRED podcast.
She's currently working on a multimedia digital exhibit featuring oral histories from a multiracial network of rural and urban women in Arkansas in the 1980s and 1990s who tried to out-organize the rising Christian Right.
She hates the idea of self-promotion so has been effectively putting off building a website for the last seven years, but it's finally in development. In the meantime, you can reach her on Twitter at @annastitt_.
