About Andrew
I finished a doctoral program at UC Berkeley in December 2022, and now I'm exploring careers in science journalism and communication. During graduate school, I spent a lot of time interviewing other graduate students for my show The Graduates on KALX, Cal's campus radio station. I also wrote a lot of popular science articles for print. In my last semester of graduate school, I joined KALW as an Audio Academy Fellow.
I'd love to continue building on my interviewing and storytelling skills. I want to tell stories about science that intersect with all aspects of human life and society. But I'm interested in other subjects as well, and I'm happy to work on any interesting story.

This is a profile of a naturalist who works in Tilden Nature Area in the East Bay Hills. I produced it as an Audio Academy Fellow at KALW.
I conducted three interviews with first year students in my graduated program and edited together a half-hour episode with their responses. This was for my show The Graduates on KALX. This episode was a finalist for a CBI National Student Production Awards in 2022.
I wanted to have two scholars discuss an issue from two different perspectives. So, I found an historian and an ecologist who were both studying human-wildlife interactions. I facilitated the conversation for my show The Graduates on KALX.
I interviewed two graduates students from the same lab, which was also part of the department I graduated from. I produced the interview for my show The Graduates on KALX.
