Amber Amortegui

I’m Amber Amotegui, a podcast producer and audio editor in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As an undergrad journalism student, I wasn't sure which storytelling medium I wanted to explore. And, to be honest, I hadn't really given podcasts much thought! But the first time I heard a narrative-style podcast (Invisibilia’s “The Weatherman”) I was hooked. My entire career path changed.

I interned at my local NPR member station, WLRN.FM, in the summer of 2020. I reported on social justice protests, small businesses surviving the pandemic, and Generation Z’s push for social reform.

I’m currently the Lead Content Producer of The Florida Podcast Network. I also do tape syncs anywhere in South Florida. I’ve done tape syncs for shows produced by Novel, Slate, High Five Content, and Dear Media.

Outside of work, you can find me rollerblading, playing basketball, or somewhere at the beach.
