• The Neuffer Fellowship from the International Women’s Media Foundation
Deadline: March 6, 2018
Details: Academic and professional support for women in journalism focused on covering human rights and social justice. Fellows will have the chance to complete research at MIT’s Center for International Studies. Fellows also intern at The Boston Globe and The New York Times.
• The Sonic South Audio Competitions
Deadline: March 9, 2018
Details: The contest is open to audio pieces with a focus on southern women’s stories. The first prize winner will receive $250.
• Reporting Fellowships To El Salvador & U.S./Mexico Border
Deadline: March 26, 2018
Details: Funding and lodging for a group of journalists to “report on Rural Security and Development from San Salvador, El Salvador. Concurrently, another group of journalists will cover Trade and its Human Impact from the U.S./Mexico Border: Laredo and Eagle Pass, Texas with the opportunity for limited travel across the border.”
• Women of Color Caucus-Frontiers Student Essay Award
Deadline: March 31, 2018
Details: Women of color who are currently graduate students with National Women’s Studies Association membership may submit an essay to the competition. One winner will receive $500 and publication of the essay in Frontiers.
• International Documentary Association production grants
Deadline: April 1, 2018
Details: Up to $10,000 grants will be awarded to support feature-length documentary works in-progress.
• Wogrammer Journalism Fellowship
Details: This $1,500 award will be given to a journalism student to conduct 10 interviews that disrupt stereotypes of women in technology.
