• 2017 NPR next Generation Radio Fellowship at KUOW
Deadline: March 20, 2017
Details: Six fellows spend a week at KUOW in Seattle, Washington, to receive mentorship and hands-on experience in audience first, short-form, non-narrated audio storytelling. All travel and housing is subsidized, and fellows receive one meal per day.
• Mother Jones Ben Bagdikian FellowshipProgram
Deadline: April 1, 2017
Details: Fellows receive a $1,500 monthly stipend over the course of a six-month program that aims to support emerging media professionals in the realm of investigative journalism. At the end of the program, fellows can apply to stay on for another six months as a senior fellow with an increased $1,800 monthly stipend. Fellows will be stationed in San Francisco, New York, or Washington, DC.
• Rosalynn Carter Fellowships for Mental Health Journalism
Deadline: April 12, 2017
Details: The program aims to help journalists enhance public understanding of mental health issues and reduce stigma against individuals with mental illnesses. Eight fellows will each receive a $10,000 stipend and two required expense-paid trips to The Carter Center to meet with program staff and advisers.
