Michelle Newman

Podcast Manager and Host

For years I served as an independent photographer and video artist creating DIY projects around the LA art scene, incorporating all sorts of mediums, including musical performances, storytelling, comedy, and animation.

Pivoting into the podcasting industry full-time in 2019, I started my producing and management company, Newman Media. Launching in August with the fully sound-designed experimental comedy podcast, "Deep Healing with Greg Barris." I've edited endless hours of audio over the past couple of years and proactively know how to find the right interview subjects to tell a compelling story and how to sound-scape it to build a world.

I've been hosting, writing, and editing for "Scary Mystery Surprise" with Edwin Covarrubias, a supernatural comedy podcast for the Scary FM & Sonoro network. Most recently, my project "Deep Healing with Greg Barris" was announced as a finalist and won a Signal Award in the "weird" category.

Edwin Covarrubias

Creator and Host of Scary FM Podcasts

Edwin Covarrubias creates and hosts the lineup of Scary FM podcasts. He is a growing voice in the paranormal storytelling genre. Some of his popular shows have ranked in the top 20 U.S. shows on Spotify and featured as Show of the Month on Apple Podcasts.

Edwin has been experimenting with audio since his first chance encounter with a cassette player as a kid, but got his first dose of scary stories late one night in the stretch between San Diego and Los Angeles, when his parent’s car picked up a signal from a Mexican scary storytelling radio show, La Mano Peluda. His other early influences came from the Scholastic book catalogs in elementary school, spending recess at the library, and obsessing over finding the next ghost story in books and magazines. Growing up between two cultures as a Latino living in the United States, his works display a unique approach to the traditional horror story that is relatable to today’s growing audiences.
