Call for Pitches: Spinsters basketball stories

Spinsters is looking for pitches!

We're a basketball podcast for people who like basketball. Conversations on Tuesdays, longform reporting on Thursdays. Co-hosted by Haley O’Shaughnessy and Jordan Ligons.

Parameters:

• Single episode (35-45 minutes) reported narrative audio stories

We Love Stories That: 

• Are centered around basketball
• Cover the sport in a way that you’ve never heard before
• Center women
• Answer a specific question

Please Send Us ([email protected]):

• 3-4 sentences about your pitch 
• 1-4 potential people you’d talk to for your story 
• The main character of your story (this can be a person or a concept)
• Your portfolio and/or previous journalism experience

What We Offer: 

• Money! Our standard rate is $2250 for a story. Stories typically involve 3-4 interviews and 1-2 recording sessions with the Spinsters team
• Audio experience! Our podcast has reached no. 1 on the Apple sports charts, and in June, we were featured as Apple Podcasts’ "Spotlight" show. 
• Support! We have an enthusiastic team of producers eager to guide this process
