Conferences We’re Watching in 2019

March 11, 2019—For storymakers near and far, conferences can be a great way to engage with the independent community, fine-tune craft, and take the pulse of media’s ever-changing state. But the choices can be overwhelming––not to mention expensive.

That’s why we’ve got you covered with a list of conferences we’re eyeing in 2019, complete with scholarships (where applicable) to help fund your attendance! Please note: As the 2019 conference season comes together, this list will be updated with dates, locations, and registration costs. Know of a conference, festival, or industry event you’d like to see on this list? Send a message to

While you’re considering conferences, why not go as an AIR ambassador? What that means:
– Represent AIR on the ground at industry events
– Stir up a social media whirlwind on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
– Attract a crew of companions from the AIR network on your adventure
– Spread the joy that is AIR swag (pins, stickers, the like)

Let us know now if you plan on attending a public media conference this year—particularly ones at which you think AIR should have a presence. Check out the list below and reach out!

Ambassadors receive a $500 reimbursement stipend, and must have confirmed conference registrations. Don’t delay! Ambassadorships are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
