I'm a journalist and podcast producer in the Bay Area. I produce a variety of podcasts, and primarily report on health and immigrant communities in California and internationally. I'm the Senior Podcast Producer for EdSource's weekly education podcast. I’ve reported for Public Radio International’s The World, BBC World News Service’s Outlook, KQED, WHYY, Stanford University’s Philosophy Talk, Vice Magazine, and more. In 2017 I was the host and reporter for season 1 of West of Middle East, a podcast about change makers from the Middle East diaspora living in the West, created by Neda Nobari Foundation. In 2015 I was also the scriptwriter and lead reporter for The Science of Gratitude, a one hour audio documentary hosted by Susan Sarandon and created by UC Berkeley and Ben Manilla Productions. I’m the recipient of a 2013 International Center for Journalists fellowship, where I reported on transgender Iranian refugees who had fled to Turkey. Find me on Twitter @skalantari.
