Melissa Waldron Lehner has been a producer for television, film, and radio for more than 15 years. Currently, she is a contributing producer for The Leonard Lopate Show, where she produces a regular monthly segment with Gourmet magazine's Editor-in-Chief Ruth Reichl. Lehner is also working on her first hour-length audio project about the life of James Beard, our "Dean of American Cuisine."
As to why she volunteers: "I absolutely love the AIR community, and it has energized me immensely. AIR is a fabulous resource and has given me a lot of direction thanks to the daily listserv. It's an invaluable resource and [I] am glad I could help out!"
Dave Barasoain is a professor of journalism at Southern Adventist University in Chattanooga, and a freelance producer for the public radio market in Atlanta, Georgia.
As to why he volunteers: "I volunteer for AIR for the same reasons I support public radio. That is, they provide a frank, credible vein of information that I've not found anywhere else. I appreciate and use it so often that I feel compelled to give back."
