Kerry Donahue's Bio
Kerry Donahue works as a producer of original programming for audible.com, the largest spoken word site on the Web. Producing for the web is pretty much the same as for radio (minus the pesky FCC) and even though she's a radio producer at heart, Kerry took the job three and half years ago to keep up-to-date with technology. At Audible, she keeps her digital audio editing skills sharp as the producer of In Bed with Susie Bright, a popular sex show hosted by sexpert Susie Bright. Her past projects include producing a weekly interview program with Robin Williams, a political program with journalists Jim Fallows and Karen Breslau, and a comedy show with Greg Proops. Kerry also introduces public radio programs on Audible to non-public radio folks who come to Audible because they already know they like the "Spoken Word."
In August of last year, Kerry returned to her alma mater, the Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism to teach radio. Kerry's also worked as a reporter for WBGO in Newark, a news producer at WNYC, and she has also filed feature stories for On the Media and All Things Considered. Before moving to NYC to attend graduate school, Kerry worked as a case-manager for mentally ill adults in her home state of Maine. She spent her free time at the local community station, WMPG, where she was one of the founders of a weekly public affairs program called Big Talk. Kerry lives in Manhattan, but, having worked in New Jersey for several years (Audible is in Wayne, NJ, right on the "mighty" Passaic River), swears she's learned all the shortcuts to get across the Hudson River, short of swimming.
